April-14-03 Rutgers Names Elizabeth Tchou Field Hockey Coach
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers has named Elizabeth Tchou (pronounced chew) as head coach of the Scarlet Knight field hockey program, Rutgers Director of Athletics Robert E. Mulcahy, III announced.“We are thrilled that Coach Tchou has joined the Rutgers family,” said Mulcahy. “Her coaching background is extensive and her skill as both a player and coach at the national-team level are well-documented. We are very excited about what Liz will bring to the Rutgers program.”

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers field hockey’s Stacey Gaenzle (Lancaster, PA), Erica Hartwig (Medford, NJ) and Heather Graver (Vincetown, NJ) were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad. To earn the award, student-athletes are nominated by their coaches after achieving a 3.30 cumulative GPA through the fall 2002 semester.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers field hockey team (3-16, 0-5 BIG EAST) concluded its 2002 season this evening in the pouring rain, falling to Hofstra (10-9), 2-1, at the Rutgers Stadium Complex.In a pre-game ceremony, the Scarlet Knights honored head coach Ann Petracco as she took the field for the final time as head coach. Petracco announced her intention to retire at the end of the season Oct. 4 and finished her 26-year stand at RU with a record of 248-229-40.
