PISCATAWAY, NJ – Megan Cech (Moorestown, NJ) and Erica Hartwig (Shawnee, NJ) shared Offensive Player of the Year honors as the Rutgers field hockey team held its annual postseason awards banquet on Saturday evening, February 21.

November-18-03 Klebez Finishes Season Nationally Ranked in Defensive Saves
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Junior back Tiffany Klebez (Medford, PA/Delaware Valley), of the Rutgers University field hockey team, finished the 2003 season ranked 10th nationally with six defensive saves. Over the past three seasons, she has 15 defensives saves, just nine shy of the school record.

November-07-03 Noon Named to All-BIG EAST Field Hockey First Team
CHESTNUT HILL, MA – Jennifer Noon (Shavertown, PA) and Megan Cech (Moorestown, NJ), of the Rutgers University field hockey team, were both recognized by the BIG EAST Conference at its annual pre-tournament banquet, held on Thursday, Nov. 6. Noon garnered First Team All-BIG EAST honors, while Cech was selected to the second team.

CHESTNUT HILL, MA – The Rutgers University field hockey season came to an end on Friday, Nov. 7, as the Scarlet Knights were defeated by No. 11 Connecticut, 3-0, in the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament. RU finishes its season with a 7-13 record.

October-29-03 Field Hockey Falls to Hofstra in Regular-Season Finale
HEMPSTEAD, NY – Rutgers’ 2003 regular season officially came to an end on Wednesday night with a 2-0 loss to Hofstra at James M. Shuart Stadium. The Scarlet Knights fall to 7-12 overall but will continue its season as the fourth seed in next weekend’s BIG EAST Tournament.

October-24-03 Field Hockey Falls at #16 Boston College 3-1
CHESTNUT HILL, MA – Boston College scored two first half goals en rout to a 3-1 triumph over Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 24, at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, MA. With the loss, Rutgers falls to 7-11 overall and finishes its BIG EAST slate with a 2-3 record.

October-22-03 RU Field Hockey Defeated by Lafayette 2-0
EASTON, PA – The Rutgers University field hockey team began a three-game road trip to end its regular season with a 2-0 setback to Lafayette on Wednesday evening in Easton, PA. With the loss, Rutgers falls to 7-10 overall.

October-19-03 Field Hockey Drops Home Finale to UConn 5-1
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Connecticut, the defending BIG EAST Conference champions and currently ranked No. 13 nationally, used a three-goal first half to defeat Rutgers (7-9, 2-2 BIG EAST) 5-1 at the Rutgers Stadium Complex on Sunday, Oct. 19. Prior to the game, the Scarlet Knights honored their seven graduating seniors.

October-12-03 RU Field Hockey Defeated by #13 Princeton 3-1
PRINCETON, NJ – Despite an early goal from Megan Cech (Moorestown, NJ), the Rutgers field hockey (7-8) team lost to No. 10 Princeton (7-3), 3-1, on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Princeton’s Class of 1952 Stadium.

October-10-03 Recker's OT Goal Lifts RU Field Hockey Past Providence
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Ashley Recker (Dillsburg, PA) scored on a rebound with 11:22 to play in the second overtime as Rutgers (7-7, 2-1 BIG EAST) picked up a key BIG EAST victory over Providence (7-7, 0-2 BIG EAST) on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Rutgers Stadium Complex. It was RU’s fourth consecutive game that has been decided in overtime.
