Heidi FisherAssociate Director of Development, Major Gifts

Heidi FisherHeidi Fisher joined the Rutgers Athletic Development staff in March of 2012 as the Associate Director of Athletic Development, Major Gifts. Heidi’s focus is to secure major gifts to the athletics department specifically related to scholarships, capital projects, and operational support, along with various other department-wide initiatives. She will also play a role in the Rutgers Athletics Development re-branded Annual Giving campaign.  

Heidi came to Rutgers from Central Michigan University, where she served as Assistant Director of the Chippewa Athletic Fund. In that role she spearheaded the department’s annual giving initiatives and helped raised $1.2 million annually for CMU Athletics.

She was also instrumental in developing the “Chippewa Champions” program, an annual giving campaign which raised over $50,000 in new revenue, as well as a highly successful courtside seat program for women’s basketball.

Heidi oversaw all operations of the Chippewa Athletic Fund membership drive and the priority seating and parking programs for football and men’s basketball. Her efforts in soliciting sponsors and participants for the Chippewa Challenge Golf Outing helped raise over $125,000 for CMU student-athletes.

Prior to her time at Central Michigan, Heidi worked as a Development Assistant with The Bulldog Foundation at Fresno State.

Through her focus on annual giving, she solicited donors for participation in two philanthropic giving programs, “110% Bulldog Club” and “Take it to the Next Level”, campaigns that generated nearly $360,000 in new revenue.

She also managed and assisted in the creation of “Corporate ‘Dogs” a program aimed at cultivating relationships with local Fresno businesses.

In 2009 and 2010, Heidi worked with the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators. In her time with NACWAA, she assisted the Executive Director and the Director of Membership & Convention Services on recruitment and retention of over 1600 NACWAA members. In addition, she developed promotional materials and concepts for the 2009 annual campaign. She also co-directed the NACWAA Annual Auction which raised over $30,000 for the NACWAA Foundation Fund.

A native of Mahopac, NY, Heidi holds a B.A. in Sports Management from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Southern California. She currently resides in North Brunswick.
