Doug Dolan returned to his alma mater as Director, Athletic Development, Major Gifts in August of 2006. In this role, Doug is responsible for growing financial support for Rutgers athletics and is charged with working with certain key supporters of Rutgers Athletics and obtaining new supporters at a major gift level. Working with these various constituencies, Doug’s goal is to help take our athletic programs to the next level by driving support to meet our goals- scholarship, program and facility support.
Before joining Rutgers Athletics, Doug had a long corporate career with Quest Diagnostics where he served for almost 24 years. Most recently Doug served as Executive Director, Anatomic Pathology driving a major growth opportunity for Quest. Prior to that stint, Doug was Sales Vice President for the New York/ New Jersey Region for Quest for almost 7 years helping to grow and guide a billion dollar plus business.
A graduate of Rutgers College, Doug earned a B.S. in Business Administration in 1978. He also earned an M.B.A. in Management from The Rutgers Business School in 1990.
Dolan and his family are long time season ticket holders for football and men’s basketball at Rutgers holding tickets for almost 30 years. Long active as a volunteer at Rutgers, Doug served on the board of the Rutgers Touchdown Club from 1998 through 2006 and was President of the Club from 2003 through 2007 helping to launch a significant fundraising initiative and helping to guide membership growth. Doug was inducted into the Loyal Sons and Daughters of Rutgers in April of 2007. He was also a member of the Rutgers Board of Overseers from 2005 through 2006.
A resident of Denville, NJ, Doug and his wife Nancy are proud parents of twin daughters Erin and Shannon. He is very active with youth sports in his community and serves as Director and Grade 7-8 Select Team Coach of the Rock Den Renegades Girls Lacrosse Program. He has also served as a coach for Denville PAL girls basketball and Denville softball.
