Rutgers Athletics Holds Annual Scholarship Reception
Annual Scholarship Reception

On Sunday, April 28, the Rutgers University Athletics Department held the 45th Annual Rutgers Athletics Scholarship Reception. This exclusive reception is held each year to thank distinct members of the Rutgers Community for their generous support of Rutgers Athletics and its Scholarship Program.

The event was held at the Brown Family Recruiting Pavilion and Welcome Center, located at High Point Solutions Stadium, where representatives from multiple programs were on hand to meet and greet the attendees.

The Scholarship Program and its members’ dedication and unwavering support play a critical role in the success of Rutgers’ 24-sport Division I program. The Athletics department is grateful to the supporters who were able to take part in this special day, and appreciates their ongoing commitment to the athletic program and its mission.

Clint Wulfekotte, Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Development addressed the special guests, thanking donors for their commitment to this program, and thanking student athletes for being a great representation of Rutgers University and the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Student Athlete representatives Timothy Wright (Football) and Stephanie Zielinski (Women’s Volleyball) also addressed guests, highlighting their student athlete experience here at Rutgers.

Student-Athlete Scholarship Program Overview:

For any sports program with aspirations to compete nationally, a coach must have the ability to attract and retain the best and brightest student-athletes. That process begins with an offer of financial aid through a student-athlete scholarship.

Scholarships are the lifeblood of Rutgers Athletics and they are also the department’s single largest recurring annual expense. Each academic year scholarships will cost more than $10,000,000. When donors privately support student-athlete scholarships it reduces this expense thereby strengthening our financial position in many other critical areas of need.
