Men’s Cross Country Competes at Leopard Invitational

EASTON, PA – The Rutgers University men’s cross country team scored 139 points to finish in eighth place among 11 competing teams at the Leopard Invitational on Saturday, Oct.15, on the campus of Lafayette College in Easton, PA.

Columbia won the meet with 20 points, followed by the University of San Francisco in second (109) and Maryland Baltimore-County in third (121).

Senior Ambar Patel (Lake Hiawatha, NJ) was the Scarlet Knights’ top runner as he finished in 11th place with a time of 27:03.80, while sophomore Alex Palmentieri (Northfield, NJ) took 17th place in 27:14.10.

Also scoring points for RU was a trio of sophomores, as Chris Avallon (Piscataway, NJ) placed 48th in 28:16.60, followed by Jerry Boucicaut (Paterson, NJ) in 62nd place (28:42.10) and Mike Snihur in 63rd (28:48.30).

The Scarlet Knights will next compete at the BIG EAST Championships on Friday, Oct. 28, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
