LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rutgers University men’s cross country team tallied 46 points to finish second at the Bronc Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17, on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
Marist won the meet with 34 points, followed by Rider in third with 64 and Seton Hall in fourth with 78 points.
Rutgers had a total of four Scarlet Knights finish in the top ten, including senior Ambar Patel (Lake Hiawatha, NJ), who led RU with a fifth place finish in 26:12.00. Sophomore Alex Palmentieri (Northfield, NJ) took sixth in 26:14.00, followed by juniors Milo Schwab (Highland Park, NJ) and Bill Hulbert (North Tonawanda, NY) in ninth and 10th, respectively. Schwab clocked a time of 26:34.80, while Hulbert completed the course in 26:42.30.
Rounding out the finishes for Rutgers were sophomores Chris Avallon (Piscataway, NJ) (16th place in 26:59.60) and Mike Snihur (Liverpool, NJ) (27th in 27:54.00), freshman Brandon Smith (Colonia, NJ) (37th in 28:36.90) and sophomore Jerry Boucicuat (Paterson, NJ) (47th in 29:44.40).
Both the men’s and women’s teams will compete at the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 1, in Bethlehem, PA.
