Men’s Cross Country Wins Rider Invitational

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Rutgers men’s cross country team placed nine runners in the top-20 to finish first at the Rider Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 9. The Scarlet Knights were one of six teams to participate in this weekend’s event.

Junior Ambar Patel (Lake Hiawatha, NJ) finished third (26:03.6), freshman Alex Palmentieri (Northfield, NJ) finished fourth (26:07.7) and sophomore Milo Schwab (Highland Park, NJ ) took seventh with a time of 26:24.3 to lead the Scarlet Knights.

RU’s other top finishers were sophomore Bill Hulbert (North Tonawanda, NJ), who placed 11th out of 51 runners in a time of 26:41.9, freshman Chris Avallon (Piscataway, NJ) took 12th, clocking 23:53.3, followed by seniors Michael Redden (South Orange, NJ) and Bob Lado (Ridgefield, NJ), who finished 13th (27:00.6) and 15th (27:04.4), respectively.

Rutgers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Lafayette Invitational in Easton, PA.
