LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rutgers men’s cross country team dominated the Rider Invitational today, placing seven runners in the top-10 to sweep its way to a perfect 4-0 record against Seton Hall, Wagner, St. Peter’s and host Rider.
Senior Brian Stanziano (Bernegat, NJ) and senior Steve Slaby (Manilus, NY) went one-two, finishing 26:02.3 and 26:04.2, respectively. Freshman Tim Vitez (Haddonfield, NJ) was fourth (26:18.0), freshman Mike Redden (South Orange, NJ) finished sixth (26:47.4), junior Mike DeSimone (South Plainfield, NJ) was seventh (26:54.8), sophomore Matt Lunemann (Hillsborough, NJ) crossed the finish in ninth (27:03.3) and sophomore Tim Paule (Matawan, NJ) rounded out the top-10 (27:06).
The Scarlet Knights will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they compete in the Lafayette Invitational in Easton, PA.
