PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Rutgers crew took on Penn and Cornell for a chance at the Raritan Cup and Class of ’89 Plate on Saturday, April 18 on the Schuykill River.
In the varsity eight, Rutgers posted a time of 7:19.9 finishing behind first-place Penn (7:01.3) and Cornell in second (7:06.6). Cornell won both the second varsity eight and the novice eight. The Big Red’s second varsity clocked 7:16.4 to pace the field, followed by Penn (7:22.4) and the Scarlet Knights in 7:48.6.
The Cornell novice eight finished in 7:09.0 to edge Penn (7:27.2) and RU (7:49.0).
Rutgers will gear up for its next race on April 25, at the BIG EAST Regatta on the Cooper River.
