Learn about the new landscape at Rutgers after strategic changes in undergraduate education and admissions. 
Enjoy a dynamic discussion with Courtney McAnuff, Vice President for Enrollment Management, and Barry Qualls,
Interim Vice President for Undergraduate Education, to gain insight into the new student experience.

10:30 a.m. – Session 2: Is Plastic the Solution to Your Aches?
Thanks to a discovery at Rutgers, we have PolyAspirin—a plastic version of aspirin with real-world applications. Kathryn Uhrich, Rutgers professor and cofounder of a company devoted to bringing plastic drugs to medicine, delivers the how and why of PolyAspirin.

All are welcome to attend one or both sessions.  This event is free.  Registration is recommended.

Cultural Tour of Toronto with Rutgers Faculty Expert
Friday, January 4 | 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Professor Emerita Judith K. Brodsky will lead a guided tour of key cultural sites in Toronto, including a visit to the Royal Ontario Museum (the Canadian equivalent of the Smithsonian).

Participants will experience the works of architect Daniel Libeskind, who in 2003 won the competition for the master plan to rebuild the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan. The group will also explore the exhibition Trade Winds: Chinese Export Wares from the 8th to 20th Centuries.

Bus departs from the Westin Harbour Castle at 1:00 p.m. and will return at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Space is limited.  Cost for this trip is $20 per person and includes transportation and admittance to the museums.  Registration is required.

 

Pep Rally

WCTC radio personalities Chris Carlin and Tim Pernetti will serve as hosts to welcome the Rutgers
Scarlet Knights Football Team and Coaches, Marching Scarlet Knights, and Cheerleaders!

The Pep Rally is free and open to the public.  WEAR RED TO THE RALLY!

 

Battle of the Marching Bands

Friday, January 4 | 6:15 – 7:00 PM
Nathan Phillips Square | Northwest Corner of Queen and Bay Streets

Come out and show your support of the Marching Scarlet Knights, with director Tim Smith, as they
compete in the annual International Bowl “Battle of the Marching Bands” against Ball State. 

 

Alumni Gathering

Friday, January 4 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Harbour Sports Grille | 10 Yonge Street

Alumni Relations will host an informal alumni gathering for local and traveling alumni at the Harbour Sports Grille from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The Harbour Sports Grille is located across the street from the Westin Harbour Castle and is one of the official Rutgers fan headquarters. There is no fee to attend and registration is not required.   

 

Pre-Game Tailgate Party

Saturday, January 5 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Metro Toronto Convention Centre | Constitution Hall | 255 Front Street West

Join fellow Rutgers alumni and fans at the official Rutgers Tailgate Party from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Tailgate Party will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Center located next to the Rogers Centre.  

We will hear from Rutgers University President Richard L. McCormick and Athletic Director Bob Mulcahy
and will enjoy entertainment by our cheerleaders and band. 

Cost is $40 per person ($20 for children ages 6-15; no charge for children under 6) and includes:
* Food * Non-alcoholic beverages * Live music * Souvenir giveaways * Cash bar (after 11:00 a.m.)
Province law prohibits the sale of alcohol between the hours of 2:00 and 11:00 a.m.

PLEASE NOTE:  Pre-game Tailgate Party admission is included in all travel packages.
If you purchased an air or land package from Worldtek Travel, you are already registered for the Tailgate Party.

Space is limited and this event is expected to sell out.  Please make your reservations quickly and spread the word to fellow alumni and fans.  You will not receive a ticket to the tailgate, but will need to provide your name upon arrival.
