PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 23, 2009) – An MRI on Monday revealed Rutgers University sophomore guard Khadijah Rushdan has a bone spur on her left knee. Rushdan was injured on Sunday, Nov. 22 in the Scarlet Knights’ 49-48 loss at No. 16/22 Georgia with 3:41 to play.
Previously, Rushdan suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on the left knee in high school and missed most of the 2007-08 season–receiving a medical redshirt- after a torn ACL to her right knee on Dec. 30, 2007.
"I am happy for the news and relieved for Khadijah,'' Rutgers head coach C. Vivian Stringer said Monday evening. "This is a team of fighters, and I am confident this will push this group to excel as we embark on a tough holiday schedule in the Virgin Islands.”
The Wilmington, Del. product is averaging 7.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds. She has started 24 consecutive games for the Scarlet Knights, the most of any current player.
