PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 8, 2009) – The Rutgers women’s basketball team will make three additional television appearances during the 2009-10 season, it was announced today.
Verizon’s FiOS TV will broadcast the Scarlet Knights’ match-ups with Stanford (Nov. 15), Boston College (Nov. 19) and Louisville (March 1).
A pre-game ceremony to honor Rutgers head coach C. Vivian Stringer’s induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will precede the 2:00 p.m. tip-off of the contest with Stanford on Sunday, Nov. 15.
The fiber network channel called FiOS1 was launched in late June and is delivered via Verizon’s fiber network, which produces amazingly sharp pictures and sound, and has the capacity to transmit a wide array of high-definition programming. Verizon’s FiOS TV service was selected as the top-ranked residential television service provider in the Northeast region by J.D. Power for 2008. FiOS TV is currently available to more than 9.2 million homes in 14 states: California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
In addition to three women’s basketball games, FiOS TV is also telecasting RU men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse action.
