  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – Natisha Johnson (Gibsland, LA) has signed a national letter of intent to join the Rutgers women’s basketball program next fall, eighth-year head coach C. Vivian Stringer has announced.

The 5-9 guard averaged 33.5 points, five rebounds, nine assists and four steals per game as a junior last season at Gibsland-Coleman High School. A first-team Class B all-state selection, she was the District Most Valuable Player and the Area Player of the Year, earning a spot on the adidas Top Ten Camp Upperclass All-Star Team. She was rated the 35th-best prospect in the country by the All Star Girls Report.

“We are extremely excited to have Tisha join our program,” Stringer said. “She is a great combo guard (1/2), is extremely quick, a great ball handler, and has three-point range. In addition, she is a tremendous person and very bright.”

Rutgers will begin the 2002-2003 season at No. 6/6 Stanford Friday, Nov. 22, at 7:00 p.m. PT. RU will finish its trip with a game at California Sunday, Nov. 24, at 2:00 p.m. PT. Both games will be carried live on WRSU 88.7 FM.
