PISCATAWAY, N.J. (January 27, 2014) – Sophomore forward Kahleah Copper (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for a fifth time this season after averaging 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals per game and shooting a blistering 68.2 percent from the floor in wins at UCF and Temple.
Copper had her second-best career shooting performance at UCF last Wednesday, connecting on 8-of-9 from the field and pouring in 16 points in a 69-48 win at UCF.
She followed with her seventh 20-point game of the season and third over the course of the last four games with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting in a 74-68 victory at Temple on Sunday. Copper also went 6-of-7 from the free throw line, hauled in seven boards, tied her career-high with four steals and handed out four assists versus the Owls.
On the season, Copper leads the Scarlet Knights averaging 16.9 points per game and shooting at a 60.4 percent clip. She is also averaging 6.7 rebounds per game.
The Rutgers women’s basketball team returns home to the RAC to begin a three-game homestand starting with No. 5 Louisville on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. The game will air on the CBS SportsNetwork with Brent Stover and Debbie Antonelli on the call.
