  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Jan. 6, 2014) – Rutgers sophomore forward Kahleah Copper (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, it was announced Monday by the conference office.

After being held to a season-low nine points last week at USF, Copper rebounded with 25 points against Houston in RU’s American home opener on Saturday afternoon.  Copper’s 25 points was one point shy of her career-high and she hauled in nine boards, just one rebound shy of a double-double performance.  She shot 9-of-15 from the floor, connecting at a 60 percent clip against the Cougars.  Additionally, she played a career-high 39 minutes and added in three steals.

On the season, Copper is averaging a team-best 16.4 points per game along with 6.9 rebounds per contest.

The Rutgers women’s basketball team returns to action on Tuesday night at Cincinnati. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
