  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 25, 2013) – Sophomore center Rachel Hollivay (Columbus, Miss.) and freshman guard Tyler Scaife (Little Rock, Ark.) were both recognized by the American Athletic Conference on Monday being named to the league’s Honor Roll for the week.

Hollivay averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.5 blocks per game in Rutgers’ 1-1 week last week.  After suffering a concussion at Northeastern and missing a game with La Salle, Hollivay returned to the hardwood at UMass and came off the bench to pour in a then career-high 14 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field in a 64-63 loss to the Minutewomen.  She followed her performance by returning to the starting line-up and nearly pulling off a triple-double with 26 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks – all career highs in RU’s 69-38 victory over Howard.  It was Hollivay’s first career double-double.  Her nine blocks were also the most blocks by a Scarlet Knight in a game since Kia Vaughn’s nine rejections in 2009.

On the season, Hollivay is averaging 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game and shooting 64 percent from the field.

Scaife meanwhile averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists last week.  At UMass, Scaife tied her career-high with 13 points and added in four assists and three steals.  Scaife notched her first career start for the Scarlet Knights in RU’s 69-38 versus Howard win with eight points, three rebounds, four assists and a steal.

On the year, Scaife is averaging 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
