PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 18, 2013) – Sophomore forward Kahleah Copper (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll it was announced on Monday. It is the second straight week the Scarlet Knights have been represented on the AAC Honor Roll.
Copper averaged 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in helping Rutgers improve to 3-0 on the season in victories at Northeastern and versus La Salle last week.
At Northeastern last Wednesday, Copper garnered her first career double-double with a career-high 26 points and career-high 11 rebounds. The sophomore Scarlet Knight shot 11-of-16 from the field and added a block and a steal in the 65-51 win. On Sunday against LaSalle, Copper led RU with 12 points before fouling out. Against the Explorers, Copper shot 4-of-8 from the field and added three boards.
On the season, she is averaging a team-leading 18.0 points per game along with 6.7 rebounds per contest.
The Rutgers women’s basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at UMass. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
