Rutgers, UConn, Penn State, Army Tip-Off in Third Annual Maggie Dixon Classic |
| New York, N.Y. - Madison Square Garden announced today that Rutgers, UCONN, Penn State and Army will participate in the third annual Maggie Dixon Classic on Sunday, December 14, 2008. For the second consecutive season The Garden will host the premier women's college basketball doubleheader, which will be televised nationally on ESPN U. |

Mitchell Promoted to Associate Head Coach |
| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's basketball head coach C. Vivian Stringer has announced the promotion of assistant coach Carlene Mitchell to the level of associate head coach. "I am very excited, both for Carlene and for the Rutgers program," Stringer said. "She is an excellent tactician, strategist and outstanding recruiter.

Speed Tabbed to USA Basketball U18 National Team |
| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Incoming Rutgers freshman Nikki Speed (Pasadena, Calif.) was selected to the USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team, it was announced today. Speed was one of 12 named to the national team from a pool of 35 of the nation's best 18-year olds and younger.

Pondexter, competing in her first Olympic games, was one of nine names revealed on Saturday in a press conference in Washington, D.C.

Rutgers’ C. Vivian Stringer to Host Girls Basketball Camps |
| PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Nine sessions of the C. Vivian Stringer Basketball Camp will be offered for girls ages 6-17 this summer at Rutgers University’s Louis Brown Athletic Center. Day camp will run in two sessions, July 7-10 and July 14-17. The day camp focuses on teaching the fundamental skills and introducing basic game strategy. It is open to girls ages 8-17. The day runs from drop-off beginning at 8:00 a.m. until dismissal at 2:00 p.m.

Rutgers Head Coach C. Vivian Stringer to Receive Honorary Degrees |
| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers head women's basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer will be honored with a pair of honorary degrees this month.
Stringer, the third winningest coach in women's basketball history, will receive a Doctor of Humanities degree from Howard University on Saturday, May 10.
