PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers at Notre Dame game on Wednesday, March 2, will be televised to a national audience on ESPN Classic, the BIG EAST Conference has announced. The game time has been moved from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
ESPN Classic, now in 55 million homes via basic cable, digital cable, sports tiers, and DirecTV and Dish Network, plans to produce nine live men's college basketball games this season with a Wednesday game-of-the-week during conference play. The BIG EAST Conference has been selected for the majority of these telecasts (5 of the 9 while C-USA will have three and the Big 12 one). The games will be produced with a "retro look."
The BIG EAST games will be the following, none of which were currently being televised. Please note the start time changes.
1/5/05 West Virginia at Villanova 7:30pm
2/2/05 Seton Hall at Georgetown 8:00pm (change from 7:30pm)
2/9/05 Providence at West Virginia 8:00pm (change from 7:00pm)
2/16/05 Georgetown at Notre Dame 8:00pm (change from 7:30pm)
3/2/05 Rutgers at Notre Dame 8:00pm (change from 7:30pm)
The Rutgers-Notre Dame game will be the third nationally-televised game involving Rutgers to be aired this season. Rutgers will host the last two national championship teams at the RAC. On Monday, Jan. 24, Rutgers will play host to 2003 national champion Syracuse and on Saturday, Feb. 19, Rutgers will host 2004 national champion Connecticut. Both games will appear on ESPN.
