PISCATAWAY, NJ – Jimmie Inglis, a 6-9, 260-pound center from Gros Islet, St. Lucia has enrolled at Rutgers University and will be a member of the Scarlet Knight basketball team, it was announced today.
Inglis averaged 17.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in the 2001-02 season at Globe Institute in New York City before transferring to Eastern Oklahoma State College for the 2002-03 season.
At Eastern Oklahoma State, Inglis was slowed by a back injury that forced him to miss the first half of the season. Despite the injury, Inglis averaged 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds. Inglis sat out last season while he rehabilitated his back.
“We are excited with the addition of Jimmie Inglis to the Rutgers basketball family,” said Waters. “Jimmie is a fine low post scorer and rebounder who will add size and depth to our rotation. Jimmie will complement the players that we have in the program in that he is a skilled, mature and experienced big man. I am very pleased that Jimmie has elected to continue his academic and basketball career at Rutgers University.”
