PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers products Wally Judge (Washington, D.C.) and J.J. Moore (Brentwood, N.Y.) have both signed professional contracts to compete overseas. Judge has inked a deal with Vuelle Basket Pesaro in Italy’s Series A, while Moore has signed with A.G.O. Rethymno Aegean in Greece A1.
“We are very proud of Wally and J.J. for earning these opportunities,” said Rutgers head coach Eddie Jordan. “They worked extremely hard and represented Rutgers well. These are very strong leagues. It will be a great experience for them, both competitively and culturally.”
Judge averaged 7.5 points and 6.2 rebounds-per-game in 31 games (29 starts) this past season with 34 blocked shots. As a junior in 2012-13, he averages 7.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 31 contests (30 starts). In his two seasons with the Scarlet Knights after transferring from Kansas State University, Judge scored in double figures 21 times and had seven double-doubles.
Moore averaged 11.2 points and 2.9 rebounds-per-game in 33 games (30 starts) in 2013-14 after transferring from the University of Pittsburgh. After posting a double-double (17/11) in his first career game in Scarlet versus Florida A&M, he proceeded to score in double digits on 17 more occasions. He was cited on the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Feb. 3 after scoring 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting in a 93-70 win over Houston.
