Rutgers to Meet Vanderbilt in 2014 Barclays Center Classic

  • PISCATAWAY, N.J.  – Rutgers men’s basketball will meet Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, in the third annual Barclays Center Classic in Brooklyn. Depending on the outcome, the Scarlet Knights will then play Virginia or La Salle at either 7 or 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29.

    The contests in Brooklyn will be televised on the NBC Sports Network.

    Prior to the contests in Brooklyn, the Scarlet Knights will host two games at the RAC as part of the Classic. RU will host St. Francis-Brooklyn on Sunday, Nov. 23 and St. Peter’s on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

    Tickets for the games in Brooklyn are available through Ticketmaster by visiting www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000. Tickets are also available at the American Express Box Office at the Barclays Center.

The Scarlet Knights will host 16 regular season games at the RAC in 2014-15, including nine Big Ten foes and three teams that advanced to the 2014 NCAA Championship Elite Eight.

    With Rutgers joining the Big Ten, the field of the Barclays Center Classic will represent several of the nation’s top conferences, including the ACC (Virginia), the Southeastern Conference (Vanderbilt) and the Atlantic 10 (La Salle).
