PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men’s basketball will play at Clemson on Monday, Dec. 1 in the 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The game will be televised on the ESPN family of networks at a time to be determined.
The contest will mark the second meeting between the Scarlet Knights and Tigers on the collegiate hardwood. Clemson defeated Rutgers 78-68 at the RAC on March 16, 1999 in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) second round.
Rutgers will have home-and-home meetings with Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State and Purdue during its inaugural Big Ten Conference campaign in 2014-15. The Scarlet Knights will also welcome Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State and Wisconsin to the RAC. On the road in Big Ten play in 2014-15, Rutgers will travel to Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska.
In non-conference play, RU will compete in the third annual Barclays Center Classic, to be held on November 28 and 29, 2014, in Brooklyn. The event will also feature Virginia, Vanderbilt, and La Salle. Matchups will be announced at a later date. Prior to the contests in Brooklyn, the Scarlet Knights will host two games at the RAC as part of the Classic. Dates and opponents for those games are still to be announced.
Rutgers also continues its longtime rivalry with Seton Hall during non-conference play in 2014-15. Next season’s edition of the “Turnpike Tussle” will take place at Seton Hall at a date and time still to be announced.
