PISCATAWAY, NJ - Quincy Douby (Brooklyn, NY) a 6-3, 175-pound guard, was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for the second straight week and for the third time overall this season.
The deep-shooting Douby averaged 19.5 points while shooting 66.7 percent from three-point range in helping to lead Rutgers to a pair of wins. Douby poured in 24 points and dished out four assists in the Scarlet Knights’ 81-70 victory over Notre Dame on Saturday.
He added 15 points in a 71-68 triumph at Villanova on Wednesday. Douby was 6-of-9 from three-point range in the two games and has connected on 14-of-18 three-pointers over his last five games.
Douby leads the BIG EAST with a 56.2 shooting percentage from three-point range from beyond the arc in league games.
Douby was Co-BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on Jan. 26 and Dec. 3.
