  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 25, 2013) - Rutgers men’s basketball coach Eddie Jordan announced today that 6-5, 220-pound junior college wing Craig Brown (Miami, Fla.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Scarlet Knights. Brown averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds this past season as a sophomore at Broward College in Davie, Fla., to earn First Team All-Southern Conference honors while helping the Seahawks to a 17-12 record under head coach Bob Starkman.

“We are very excited to welcome Craig into the program,” said Jordan. “He is a high-character young man who works hard, both in the gym and in the classroom. He is a physical, do-it-all type of player that will bring experience to the roster.”

Brown averaged 20.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 39 percent from three-point range for Broward in 2011-12. He was named first team All-NJCAA Region VIII, All-FCSAA and all-conference.

Brown was a four-year varsity basketball letterwinner at North Miami Beach High School under head coach Michael Bradley. He averaged 21.0 points-per-game as a senior to earn First Team All-Miami-Dade honors from the Miami Herald and Florida Sun-Sentinel. He was also named Most Outstanding Player and Playoff MVP of the Five-Star Basketball Camp championship. A three-year varsity letterwinner in track & field, he was named first team all-region as a senior on the track.
