PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 18, 2013) - Rutgers sophomore guard Myles Mack (Paterson, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after averaging 19.0 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 50 percent (13-of-26) from the field in a 1-1 week.
Mack scored a career-high 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting with four rebounds at DePaul on Saturday. The performance included 16 consecutive points with under eight minutes remaining. On Tuesday (Feb. 12), he posted 10 points and had three assists in a 57-55 win over rival Seton Hall at the RAC.
The St. Anthony High School product presently leads the BIG EAST in free throw percentage (.917) and three-point field goal percentage (.451), while also placing eighth in steals (1.75) and 11th in field goal percentage (.502). He is first among the league’s guards in field goal percentage.
The honor marks Mack’s second recognition on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season after being cited on Dec. 17. Teammates Eli Carter (Paterson, N.J.) and Dane Miller (Rochester, N.Y.) have also earned recognition this year in the league’s weekly awards.
