PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 18, 2013) – Rutgers basketball will host a Hurricane Sandy Relief Event on Tuesday, March 5 when the Scarlet Knights take on Marquette at the RAC at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $7 (use online promo code SANDY) and all donations collected at the game will go to the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund.
“Rutgers University has been a tremendous partner in the Sandy relief effort, whether it was students immediately volunteering in the worst hit communities or raising money at various athletic events since November. It is just another example of how many people have rallied in support of families, friends, neighbors or complete strangers devastated by this storm,” said Mary Pat Christie, Chair of the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund. “The funds raised from this event will help with our long-term recovery efforts in the months and years ahead, and assist the families, communities and businesses in these areas come back better and stronger.”
The event will include the auction of autographed merchandise, Jersey Strong t-shirts for purchase (while supplies last) and special guest appearances.
