PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men’s basketball team will host Holy Family University in an exhibition game on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Rutgers Athletic Center at 1 p.m. Admission to the game, which will feature general admission seating, is free and parking is complementary.
Fans will have their first opportunity to see the team in game action under third-year head coach Mike Rice. The Scarlet Knights had many notable accomplishments last season with the nation’s fifth-youngest roster on the court. As a result, RU heads into 2012-13 with a measure of experience and with 10 returning letterwinners on the roster, including nine with starting experience.

Holy Family finished 12-14 overall last season and qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament for the first time since 2008-09, as the team earned the eighth seed after finishing 8-9 in conference play. The Tigers are under the leadership of second-year head coach R.C. Kehoe.
Rutgers begins its regular season at home versus St. Peter’s on Friday, Nov. 9. The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised live in the New York Metropolitan area on SNY. Rutgers will play 13 teams (9 NCAA, 2 NIT, 2 CBI) that earned postseason bids last season, to highlight its 2012-13 regular season schedule, resulting in 16 of 29 games against postseason opponents.
