Providence, R.I. (June 28, 2012) – The Rutgers University men's basketball team will play Cincinnati, Georgetown, St. John’s and Seton Hall twice as part of an 18-game BIG EAST Conference schedule in 2012-13, the league announced Thursday.
The 2012-13 season marks the sixth consecutive campaign that each team will play 18 conference games. This year will be the first in which the format features four home-and-home opponents.
Rutgers, under the leadership of third-year head coach Mike Rice, will play nine home games and nine away contests in the BIG EAST in 2012-13. Cincinnati, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. John’s Seton Hall and USF all visit the Rutgers Athletic Center this winter. The Scarlet Knights' conference road opponents are Cincinnati, Connecticut, DePaul, Georgetown, Notre Dame, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Syracuse and Villanova.
