Rutgers Men’s Hoops Earns Perfect APR Score for 2010-11
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men’s basketball team earned a perfect academic progress rate (APR) score of 1000 for the 2010-11 academic year under then first-year head coach Mike Rice. The Scarlet Knights were one of six BIG EAST men’s basketball teams to achieve a perfect score.
Rutgers received a multi-year score of 952, a four point improvement of last year’s report (948), which concluded with data from the 2009-10 academic year.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
