  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers baseball team (16-13 overall, 8-2 BIG EAST) has moved into a tie for first place in the BIG EAST standings following Notre Dame's 2-1, game two loss to St. John's this afternoon in South Bend. The Fighting Irish won the opener, 7-1, and now own an identical 8-2 conference mark.

    St. John's (7-3) is tied with Pittsburgh for third place in the league standings, while Boston College (4-3) sits in fifth place. The top four teams in the league earn a spot in the BIG EAST Baseball Championship, set for May 27-29 at Commerce Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, NJ.
