PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 14, 2012) – Junior Patrick Kivlehan (West Nyack, N.Y.) has earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season, the conference office announced Monday. This is the fourth conference honor of the season for the third baseman overall, as he was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 26.

In the three-game series at Notre Dame, Kivlehan supported his candidacy for BIG EAST Player of the Year and All-America status with six more hits (6-for-12) and two home runs, finishing with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .538 on-base percentage for the weekend. He went 4-for-4 with an intentional walk, homer and four runs scored in a win in the middle game of the set.

He has now had three games this season with four base hits after being a member of the Rutgers football team for the last four years, not playing baseball since high school.

Kivlehan has reached base safely in the last 22 games and leads the BIG EAST with a .400 batting average and a .694 slugging percentage for the season. He is also tied for first with 12 home runs and second with a .483 on-base percentage. In addition, the third baseman ranks third with 23 stolen bases.

In just conference games, he leads the league in batting average (.402), slugging percentage (.761), on-base percentage (.504), runs scored (25), RBIs (30) and home runs (9).

He also earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on April 2 and April 30 in addition to the Player of the Week.

The Scarlet Knights (28-21, 13-11 BIG EAST) will return to action on Tuesday, May 15 for a 1 p.m. game against Iona at Bainton Field.
