PISCATAWAY, NJ – Red Bank outfielder Mike Livingston and Christian Brothers Academy pitcher Kevin Lillis have announced their intention to attend Rutgers and play baseball for the Scarlet Knights. The duo joins a talented class that includes Second Team All-State selection Matt Giannini of Watchung Hills, Dennis Hill of Pascack Valley and Luis Feliz of New Brunswick, as well as fellow Shore standout Kyle Bradley of Red Bank Catholic.

June-08-05 OF's Williams and Defendis Selected in MLB Draft
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Redshirt sophomore David Williams (Franklin Twp., NJ) and junior Johnny Defendis (Staten Island, NY) were selected on the second day of the 2005 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Williams was taken in the 25th round (741 overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks, while Defendis was taken 880th overall in the 29th round by the Chicago Cubs.

May-30-05 Urena's 3-Run Triple Leads Division II/III All-Stars to 7-6 Win in NJCBA All-Star Game
LAKEWOOD, NJ – Kean University's Felix Urena drilled a bases-clearing, three-run triple to tie the game at 6-6 and then scored on a sacrifice fly as the Division II/III All-Stars scored five times in the eighth inning to rally for a 7-6 victory over the Division I All-Stars in the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) All-Star game, played this afternoon at FirstEnergy Park.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Five member of the Rutgers University baseball team earned All-BIG EAST honors, as announced by the conference at its pre-championship dinner on Wednesday night.

May-23-05 College All-Star Game Set for Memorial Day in Lakewood
PISCATAWAY, NJ – The annual NJCBA All-Star game will take place on Memorial Day (Monday, May 30) at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, home of the Lakewood Blue Claws. The game’s format will pit the Division I All-Stars vs. the Division II/III All-Stars in one, nine-inning game beginning at 1:00 p.m.

May-22-05 Rutgers Falls to Seton Hall, 8-1, in Season’s Final Game
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Seton Hall freshman Dan McDonald took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Pirates beat Rutgers, 8-1, in the season finale for both teams. Rutgers finishes the 2005 season with a 32-21 overall record, including a 12-12 mark in BE play.

May-21-05 Rutgers Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Seton Hall
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Back-to-back home runs from Dave Williams (Franklin Twp., NJ) and Steve Hook (Langhorne, PA) lifted Rutgers to an 8-4 win in the opener, as Rutgers (32-20, 12-11 BIG EAST) split a doubleheader today with Seton Hall, which rallied for eight runs over the final two innings to win the second game, 10-4. Unfortunately for Rutgers, Notre Dame completed its series sweep of West Virginia with a 7-3 win, thus clinching the fourth and final spot in the BIG EAST Tournament.
